Does technology cause more harm than good?

I think it should cause both harm and good.Everything has two sides.Just for students,Harm:Some students focus on internet games and pay more money on different kinds of mobile phones.It will influence studying.Good:We can use Internet searching more information quickily and getting more new knowledge in a shorter time.It will reduce our time to spend on discovering.(continued...)

ReplyDeleteFrom now on, I think the technology benefit us more. People’s life directly bound up with technology, which includes the improvement of human’s life standard, health care, human civilization, national prosperity, explore the unknown area…We already can’t live without it. Otherwise, the society will be unrest. Nevertheless, fowling development of technology, some bad effects are consequent which are many kind of pollution and illness (SARS, Avian influenza), harmful radiation, the Global Warming, etc. In the future, I am sure it will become terrible problem. The fact is that the trend of technology development cannot be stopped. Still, we can do something good, such as recycling, saving water, protecting forest, etc. Only by doing this, the drawbacks caused by technology can be minimized.

ReplyDeleteI strongly agree that teconology bring us more advantages due to the fact that there are many reasonable factors. it's helpful, useful and convenient for us to live in busy daily life. For instance,
ReplyDeleteWould you want to make a fire to cook for your meals? or would you want to delivery messages by pigeon？the answer is absolutely NO~. We can use electricity to cook, through the internet to sent the email. Consequently, the advantages of teconology completely cover their harms, despite a few drawbacks sometimes.
for me the development of technology gives most people benefits than harms. technology shortened the distance between people, we can chat everyone around world at any time, we can travel to the any places on earth, we enjoy the happiness from football live show, films,clubs, even the cooking ways depends on the advanced cooking machines such as oven, microwave those are full of technology brings us these dilicious, yummy foods....thx technology.....
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, the technology is a good thing for our life, because the better technology will give our the better convenient and colourful life. Such as ,the train or the flight’s invention let the world become a village. In the ancient time, if we want to go to other city or country that is a very difficult thing for everyone. At present, only use 10 hours or more time we can arrival at every area.
ReplyDeleteIn contrast, if technology is used to some bad things that will harm to the society. Such as, people use the higher technology to steal a glance others information form their computer system.
In conclusion, the teachnology has more good than harm in our life.

ReplyDeleteThe progress of technology does not necessarily equal to improve the quality of life. After the Industrial Revolution, many things became victim of the high-technological economy, such as human health, air pollution, and endangered species. Mostly, technology will overcome their problems but it takes a time to solve the issues. Also, in many cases, these victims are left it alone. This is the main reason of why I think technology is more harmful than the benefit.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, technology carries two ways good and bad based on the way people use it.In many cases, people use technology to ease their lives, cure diseases and find solutions such as recycling and transportation.However, pollution is the main problem of technology use.

ReplyDeleteuh...for me, it's difficult to state technology cause harm more than good because I really enjoy the life that benefited by techonology. Of course, techonology actually "present" us many; we not only gain conveniences and another profits, however, but also lose a lot, which are following the advantages, at the same time. For examples, Email cause exchanging information to become faster but can not translate freezing words into emotion. Cell phone makes communicating promptly but might infringe personal privacy. Moreover, medicines cure dieases but also cause germs having drug resistance. Therefore, should we reject the benefits from technology as refusing to eat due to fear of choking? Of course not, nowadays, the only thing can be done is to consider which harm or what level of harm that really can be undertaken and reduced by each individual. Never rely on wishing new technology could solve the problems! Hence, I partly agree the above views that state technology benefits more than harm.
ReplyDeleteI favor of that technology cause more good than harm. I don’t think we can live without technology even it brings us so many disadvantages. We need it, that means technology is much more advantages, because it can improve our life.
ReplyDeleteOur life is more convenient to what it used to be due to technological development such as electricity, telephones, vehicles, computers and internet, etc. For example, we can use phone to keep in touch with others whenever and wherever. But as before, without the phone, we must send the letters to others or try to find them then talk face to face that will waste a lot of time. And as Jason said, technology can make us cook convenient.
But we can’t ignore the harm which is caused by the technology. One of the most serious issues is the pollution problem. We need to pay more attention to it and try our best to reduce pollution. Technology cause environmental pollution and it also can solve this problem. We can create some machines to protect our environment. And I think the government should make more laws to protect environment, the companies should conform to the law and people should start to do everything they can do for the environment right now.
I can’t forecast the future, but up to now, I still strongly agree that technology cause more good than harm.

ReplyDeleteTechnology has transformed many aspects of our lift, such as traffic, communications, health and economy. There is no doubt that our life becomes comfortable and convenient with the help of advanced technology.
It's true that technology already caused harms for environment, but there are other points that brought to the forefront, which is sustainable development for human.
Sustainable development means that human meet the demand at the same time can't damage the young generations come to meet their needs in the future. Environmental pollution haunts technological advance up until now.
Every progress about each one specific technology subjects coincide advantages and disadvantages.The main question is 'Which aim technology used for?'.For example,medical care:increasing technology,researches,finding new solutions against illnesses...all of them sound great.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand,the biological experiments,using on animals,humans,to change DNA and besides new creation.Sounds horror!!I think more developing technology means to be expected more reasons of war.One day they'll spend whole technology what they'll have done by the that time.Although has anyone seen the movie 'Eagle Eye'?.It's quite good about 'Artificial Intelligence'.I impressed and also scared.The movie shows up end of the technology.I mean the computers dominate to human being .
Consequently,we need technology advantages.We should use but although we must be careful from disadvantage effects which are threatening living beings

Technology plays a role in many parts of our lives, such as housing, internet and economy. We all use home appliances to do the housework for us nowadays. Technology can improve work efficiency and increase the quantity and quality of productions. But, technology is the reason for some of the problems facing the world today. It also has some drawbacks. It is generally accepted that technology may cause pollution.

ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, technology is vital but it doesn't controlled by itself. In other words, technology itself didn't cause any harm, it is due to the application of humans.
It seems that Nicolas wrote the longest comment,and i agree his opinions. Technology has both good and harm effect on our lives but the advantages maybe more than the disadvantages. We still need to think about how to deal with this problem and find out the best way to use technology well.
